A five-storey building owned by former Imo State Governor Rochas Okorocha collapsed along Ahmadu Bello Way in Abuja last night, causing widespread panic.

The structure, which was under renovation, gave way around 9 p.m. Federal Capital Territory Police quickly cordoned off the area. Eyewitnesses report that several individuals might be trapped, and rescue operations are ongoing. Emergency responders rescued three people, who were taken to the hospital for treatment.

The situation is being managed by the National Emergency Management Agency and FCT Development Control. The cause of the collapse is yet to be determined, and an investigation has been launched to ascertain the details. Further updates are expected as rescue efforts continue.
