Malawi’s President Lazarus Chakwera has lifted the shroud of since on criticism surrounding his appointment of his daughter, Violet, as Malawi’s High Commission in London.
Speaking in an interview with the BBC, President Chakwera said his daughter’s appointment has nothing to do with him, refuting all claims nepotism in his appointments as president.
“I never got involved in the process,” he said.
The soft-spoken pastor turned politician further said Violet is the only one out of his four to hold an official position in government.
After weeks of criticism, Chakwera believes all complaints surrounding the matter are politically motivated.
