The President of the Nigeria Labour Congress, Comrade Joe Ajaero, alleges that he was brutally beaten by thugs supervised by Imo State police after a protest. Ajaero recounts being tied, dragged on the floor, and subjected to hours of questioning at Tiger Base police post. Despite pleas for medical attention, he claims his requests were ignored until he was eventually directed to a police hospital by the Commissioner of Police. Ajaero refutes political allegations, stating the labor issue in Imo predates his presidency and denying membership in any political party.
