Ikenga Imo Ugochinyere Ikeagwuonu, a House of Representatives member from Imo State, referred to Governor Hope Uzodinma as a sore loser following the Lagos Appeal Court’s decision confirming his election victory. The court overturned a previous tribunal ruling that had disqualified Ugochinyere on pre-election grounds. His legal counsel hailed the verdict as a win for democracy, with nine appeals filed against the original judgment. Ugochinyere expressed gratitude for the vindication and criticized Uzodinma for pursuing a case despite a distant third-place finish in the election. He also urged the governor to cease supporting a non-state armed group responsible for violence in Imo State.
