US Firm Unveils $79 T-Shirt Designed to Go 30 Days Without Washing
A US-based clothing company, HercLeon, has introduced a new T-shirt it says can remain fresh for up to 30 days without washing, even when worn regularly.
The product, called the HercShirt V5.0, is the latest version of the company’s T-shirt range. HercLeon says it was developed to tackle odour and moisture that usually accumulate when clothing is worn repeatedly.
The company said the fabric contains seven special ingredients, including copper, silver, zinc, gold and volcanic ash, along with two other ingredients it has chosen not to disclose.
Unlike treatments applied only to the outside of a garment, HercLeon said the materials are woven directly into the fabric.
According to the company, copper helps limit the bacteria that cause body odour, while zinc helps neutralise sulphur compounds associated with sweat. Volcanic ash is intended to absorb moisture and outside odours.

HercLeon claims the V5.0 can remain fresh for more than a month, including during heavy use. It also says less frequent washing could help the garment last longer than conventional T-shirts.
The company expects to begin shipping the V5.0 in early November, with black as the first available colour.
Navy blue, burgundy and dark green versions are expected to follow next year.
HercLeon is also offering cheaper alternatives. Its $39 budget model is designed to remain fresh for up to three days of heavy use without washing, while the standard version is expected to last up to 14 days.
The premium HercShirt V5.0 is priced at $79.
