The Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) criticized the federal government for its silence on reversing the April 3 electricity tariff hike, despite agreeing to raise the minimum wage above N60,000.

During its National Executive Council meeting, the NLC temporarily suspended its strike for one week, demanding action on the tariff issue and the abolition of the discriminatory classification of electricity consumers.

The NLC insists these issues are crucial for alleviating financial burdens on workers and the public. The tariff hike by the Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission has sparked widespread public discontent.
