The press conference by Nigeria Attorney General, Abubakar Malami, announcing the ‘rearrest’ of the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Mazi Nnamdi Kanu with support of International partners spread like a wildfire. Kanu who is facing eleven count charge, which include terrorism, treasonable felony, unlawful possession of firearms and management of an unlawful society, was abducted in a gestapo style. Addressing reporters in Hausa before reverting to English language, which is understood by all, Malami, who is at the helms of a Fulani cabal currently running Nigeria, said

“Kanu was also accused of instigating violence especially in the Southeastern Nigeria that resulted in the loss of lives and property of civilians, military, para military, police forces and destruction of civil institutions and symbols of authorities.”

Although it was said to be a rearrest with the help of international partners, the truth keeps trickling out as the IPOB leader was brought to the Abuja High Court earlier in the week amidst tight security, and in handcuffs.

According to Ifeanyi Ejiofor, leading Counsel to the IPOB leader, his client was abducted on 18th June by the Kenya Special Police at the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport while on transit. The legal representative who has repeatedly escaped assasination from the Nigeria security forces issued a statement on what really happened to his client in Kenya. The statement read –

“My Client – Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, was actually abducted by the accursed Kenya’s Special Police Force on the 18th of June 2021 at their International Airport, and consequently taken to an undisclosed residence under dehumanizing conditions.
He was tortured and subjected to all forms of inhuman treatment which worsened his health condition. He was illegally detained for eight (8) good DAYS in Kenya before being transferred to their Nigerian counterpart.
He was purportedly investigated on a bogus charge while in their custody, ostensibly, awaiting to be handed over after their findings proved him innocent of all the spurious allegations. They later beckoned on their Nigerian Counterpart to take over.
Kenyan Government was deeply involved in the abduction, detention and ill-treatment of my Client before the illegal handover to their Nigerian counterpart.
A scan of his heart showed that the heart has enlarged by 13% due to the dehumanizing treatment meted to him. There will be need for immediate proper medical examination and attention for him.
Mazi Nnamdi Kanu conveyed his goodwill message to all IPOB family members worldwide, and craved for your unrelentless prayers.
We are going back to the Court for the needful. Other details cannot be entertained here.
His fortified legal team will address these infractions at the proper forum as we progress. Other details on our legal strategy, may not be made public.
With Chukwuokike Abiama on our side, Victory is assured. For if God Almighty be for us, who can be against us?”

Days after Attorney General press briefing, the British and Kenya government have washed their hands off the IPOB leader’s messy rearrest as the frightened Nigeria media termed it. AfricaWorld news learnt the British authorities have followed up their Nigerian counterparts with preliminary talks as Mazi Nnamdi Kanu is their citizen.

Following the abduction of their leader, the IPOB Directorate of State issued a statement to its worldwide membership calling for caution and discipline.
Ifeanyi Ejiofor also called for urgent medical attention as his client’s health is deteriorating.

Even as denials are coming from Kenya and the British authorities, many have called for caution in handling this high profile political case due to the bad record in extrajudicial killing by the Buhari administration. The Governor of oil rich Rivers, Nyesom Wike has asked the Federal Government to equally arrest the dangerous Fulani Herdsmen and leaders of Miyetti Allah who have killed over 2000 across the country in the last year. Nigerians equally demand for the arrest and prosecution of Sheikh Abubakar Gumi who now appears to be the spokesperson of the Fulani terrorists christened bandits by the Nigerian media. Gumi goes to meet the terrorists in the full glare of the camera and all, but Buhari presidency officials keep siphoning outrageous sums in the name of hunting for the terrorists. The condemnation keeps coming from Nigerians and global citizens as nepotism rises as a policy.

Kenya’s action underlines the curse in Africa on the rule of law and level of tyranny. The east African involvement in the abduction of the IPOB leader reminds us of the deportation of Miguna Miguna, a Kenyan by birth, who was bundled out of the Jomo Kenyatta Airport during the controversial reelection of President Uhuru Kenyatta.

While the world watches with rapt attention on the legal proceding and treatment of Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, who is a British Citizen, AfricaWorld news learnt that his supporters gear up to unleash mayhem on selected Fulani leaders if any harm befall their leader.
