Two police men including an unidentified shooter have died following an armed confrontation outside the French Embassy in the capital, Dar es Salaam.
With authorities yet to give a comprehensive report after preliminary investigations on the motive of the attack, the country’s police chief Simon Sirro has confirmed the three deaths.
“We’ve lost two officers… the shooter has been killed. We now work on finding his identity and where he’s coming from, and we will later hold a briefing,” he said.
Videos turning rounds on social media show an armed attacker (man) being taken down by a sniper bullet near the front entrance of the embassy.
