Workers Feared Trapped as Building Under Construction Crashes in Port Harcourt
Panic erupted in Port Harcourt on Wednesday after a three-storey building under construction suddenly collapsed, leaving several workers feared trapped beneath the debris.

The incident occurred near Chief Sam Ngbor Avenue, off Peter Odili Road, behind Eternal Filling Station in the Rivers State capital.
Eyewitnesses said construction workers were carrying out activities at the site when the structure gave way, sending concrete and building materials crashing down and triggering frantic rescue efforts.
Residents in the area raised the alarm and called for emergency intervention as fears grew that more people could still be buried under the rubble.
Rescue teams and officials from relevant emergency agencies swiftly arrived at the scene and began search-and-rescue operations to locate possible survivors.

Confirming the incident, spokesperson for the Rivers State Police Command, ASP Blessing Agabe, said two victims had been pulled from the collapsed structure and rushed to a hospital for treatment.
She added that rescue operations were still ongoing to determine whether additional workers remained trapped.

Authorities have yet to establish the cause of the collapse, while investigations are expected to determine what led to the structural failure.
No deaths had been officially confirmed as of the time of this report.
