Former SUG President Found Dead While Serving as Corps Member
A former President of the Students’ Union Government (SUG) of the Federal Polytechnic Nekede, Okebaram Stanley Chimaroke, has been found dead while serving as a member of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) in Bayelsa State.

Chimaroke, a 27-year-old Civil Engineering graduate, was serving in Nembe Local Government Area when he was reported missing, triggering a search by security agencies.
According to reports, the matter was brought to the attention of the police after fellow corps members were unable to reach him through his mobile phone.
His disappearance prompted concerns among colleagues and NYSC officials.

Police sources said Chimaroke was last seen on the evening of July 24 in Nembe Creek, where he was posted for his national service.
Officers subsequently launched a search operation in the riverine community following the report of his disappearance.
The search ended in tragedy after his body was recovered from a body of water in the area.
Although some reports suggested he may have been attacked before he went missing, the circumstances surrounding his death remain unconfirmed, and investigators are continuing their inquiries.

As of the time of filing this report, the Bayelsa State Police Command had not issued an official statement confirming the recovery of the body or disclosing the cause of death. Investigations into the incident are ongoing.
