Zambia’s ruling party, the Patriotic Front -PF- disclosed, Monday, that it had assembled a team of lawyers to challenge a possible opposition victory in next month’s polls.

Speaking in the capital, Lusaka, PF Secretary General, Davies Mwila said his party had information that the main opposition United Party for National Development -UPND- was plotting to romp home victorious using dubious means.

Mwila added that the ruling party was ready to challenge the victory of UPND’s Hakainde Hichilema over the incumbent, President Edgar Lungu.

Meanwhile, the opposition have rubbished claims of them planning to rig the presidential polls adding that Zambians have resolved to retire the PF for failing to create employment, addressing economic challenges, political violence and corruption.

Zambia goes to the polls on August 12 to elect the country’s next president. lawmakers, mayors and council chairpersons including councilors.
