Norway Advance as Ivory Coast Exit World Cup After 2-1 Defeat

Norway booked their place in the FIFA World Cup Round of 16 after coming from behind to defeat Ivory Coast 2-1 in a dramatic Round of 32 encounter.

Ivory Coast made the stronger start and deservedly took the lead, putting Norway under pressure for much of the contest with a disciplined and energetic display.

The momentum shifted in the second half as Norway found an equaliser in the 74th minute to breathe new life into the tie.

With the match appearing destined for extra time, Norway struck again in the 86th minute to complete the comeback and secure victory, ending Ivory Coast’s hopes of progressing to the knockout stage.

The result sends Norway into a high-profile Round of 16 clash against five-time world champions Brazil, while Ivory Coast bow out after a spirited performance that ultimately fell just short.
