The former Anambra State governor and presidential candidate for Labour Party in the 2023 presidential election, Peter Obi, made an unsettling statement on his X Handle during the International Democracy Day celebration on 15th September, 2023. He stated that the country Nigeria is gradually losing grip on democracy, as the rule of law is treated with repugnance. The Labour Party’s presidential candidate who claimed to have gotten a landslide victory in the election but was denied of the leadership position has urged Nigerians to work effectively to “build and deepen democracy” and also asked the citizens to stay committed in constructing and substantiating the country’s democracy. #OMAGIST@AFRICAWORLDNEWS
