The National Democratic Coalition in the USA (NADECO) has called for comprehensive constitutional and institutional reforms in Nigeria, expressing concerns about the state of the nation. They criticized the alleged recklessness and rascality of the nation’s judiciary. NADECO disapproved of the Supreme Court’s ruling affirming Bola Tinubu as President, arguing that it went against the will of the masses, claiming that the transfer of sovereignty was beyond the judicial authority. They highlighted that Justice Musa Muhammad Dattijo’s critique of the Nigerian judiciary validated their longstanding concerns and tarnished the image of the Supreme Court as a bastion of justice for the common man.Drawing a parallel between the events of February 25, 2023, and the historic June 12, 1993, election, NADECO emphasized the importance of justice and the people’s trust in the judiciary. They called for extensive institutional reforms and a new constitution that reflects Nigeria’s political history.
