During his official state visit to Zambia, German President Frank-Walter Steinmeier urged German businesses to expand their investment interests in African countries, emphasizing the promising opportunities available in the continent’s markets. Speaking during the final leg of his African tour, Steinmeier highlighted Zambia as a prime example of a nation offering favorable investment conditions that are ripe for exploration and collaboration.

Steinmeier emphasized the need for German companies to redirect their focus and explore emerging markets, specifically highlighting the African continent.

Acknowledging the potential and conducive investment environment, Steinmeier lauded Zambia for its relatively advantageous conditions that present an inviting prospect for foreign investors.

Notably, the German President recognized the nation’s political stability, emphasizing its ability to navigate political transitions and maintain a resilient and steady political landscape, offering a stable ground for potential business engagements.

Prior to his visit to Zambia, Steinmeier’s African tour included a stop in Tanzania, where he extended an official apology for the colonial atrocities perpetrated by German soldiers.

This apology stood as a significant step towards acknowledging historical injustices and fostering diplomatic relations with nations affected by Germany’s colonial past.

Steinmeier’s advocacy for increased German business engagement in Africa reflects a push towards enhancing economic cooperation and fostering bilateral relations between Germany and African nations.

The German President’s message echoes the growing interest in furthering economic ties between the continents, recognizing the potential benefits of increased collaboration and investment in Africa’s markets.

The call to explore African markets by the German President underscores a pivotal shift in the narrative of international business partnerships, signaling a growing recognition of the continent’s economic prospects and an active pursuit of mutual cooperation and prosperity between Germany and African nations.
