Senator Enyinnaya Abaribe of Abia South was humiliated by soldiers who forced him out of his SUV at a military checkpoint in Abia State.
This occurred following the killing of five soldiers by suspected IPOB members during Biafra Day celebrations. The military, responding to the attack, enforced strict security measures, which led to Senator Abaribe being delayed and questioned twice during his journey to and from a funeral. The Nigerian Army has vowed a fierce response to the attack.
