Babachir Lawal Describes Tinubu’s Government as Worse Than Buhari’s
Former Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), Babachir Lawal, has criticised President Bola Tinubu’s administration, describing it as more “evil” than that of the late former President Muhammadu Buhari.
Speaking on Channels Television’s Politics Today on Monday evening, Lawal said there was no reason to remove Tinubu in 2027 if his successor would continue the same trend of poor governance.
According to him, “There’s no point taking out Bola Tinubu if you’re going to replace him with a more evil government. He is evil — completely evil. Buhari’s government was not this evil.”
Lawal further explained that his comments were based on a comparison between Tinubu’s administration and previous governments, which he said were “more accommodating and fair.”
He also accused the current administration of failing to sustain the efforts against insecurity started under Buhari’s leadership.
“In terms of equity, fairness, and justice, even in the fight against insecurity, this government is not interested. Whatever the shortcomings of Jonathan and Buhari, at least they showed concern,” he said.
Lawal, a former ally of President Buhari, has in recent times been a vocal critic of the Tinubu administration, often accusing it of neglecting national unity and worsening economic hardship across the country.
