Photos are emerging from Pretoria, South Africa, showing a memorial service in honor of the late Sixth Republican President, Dr. Edgar Chagwa Lungu. The service, taking place at the Cathedral of the Sacred Heart in Gauteng Province, has gathered several dignitaries and party members to pay their last respects.
Notably, Patriotic Front (PF) member Charity Banda, visibly emotional, arrived at the service to honor Lungu. Banda, often seen as a staunch ally, appeared more deeply affected than even the late president’s widow and close family members. Her reaction underscores the personal and political loss that the PF is experiencing following Lungu’s death.
The memorial service marks a significant moment in the ongoing mourning of the former president, with more updates expected as the situation unfolds.
