Professor Chidi Odinkalu, former chairman of the Nigerian Human Rights Commission, expressed concerns about the Results Viewing (IReV) portal intended for use in the governorship elections of Kogi, Imo, and Bayelsa States. According to INEC workers, Odinkalu learned that the password for the IREV portal had been changed, making it difficult for them to access it. He warned of potential “malfunctions” during the elections and cited a previous instance during the 2023 Presidential Election where INEC’s failure to use the portal caused controversies over the credibility of the results, later resolved by the Supreme Court.
