Despite recent speculation, ExxonMobil has assured stakeholders it is not planning to leave Nigeria.

During a meeting with the Minister of State for Petroleum Resources, Senator Heineken Lokpobiri, Shane Harris, Managing Director of ExxonMobil Nigeria, emphasized the company’s continued investment in the Nigerian energy sector.

This comes as ExxonMobil divests its 100% interest in Mobil Producing Nigeria Unlimited to Seplat Energy Offshore Limited. Harris highlighted new investments and reaffirmed the company’s partnership with the Nigerian government, underscoring the mutual commitment to sustainable growth.

Senator Lokpobiri praised ExxonMobil’s dedication, noting the government’s efforts to maintain a conducive environment for investors. This follows recent developments aimed at resolving disputes and increasing Nigeria’s crude oil output.
