At his 60th birthday thanksgiving service in Isan Ekiti, former Governor of Ekiti State, Dr. Kayode Fayemi, revealed that political rivalries in Nigeria are not genuine but rather staged for the entertainment of the public.
Fayemi explained that the perceived conflicts among politicians are just for show, saying, “All these things you read on social media are just for your entertainment.” He further clarified that despite their political differences, he shares a common vision with his opponents for a united Ekiti State.
Fayemi noted, “Many will wonder why the former governor Segun Oni is present here. I spent the entire day with him during his birthday,” and added that if Governor Ayodele Fayose were present, he too would have joined the celebration without hesitation.
He emphasized the importance of unity, stating, “We might be members of different political parties, but there’s one party that we collectively belong to, which is ‘Ekiti Progressive Party’.”
Fayemi, reflecting on his life, also shared his gratitude, saying, “I’m a product of grace, and I have so many reasons to be thankful to God at 60.”
