“I Might Not Even Be Alive” — Peter Obi Raises Alarm Ahead of 2027 Election

Former Labour Party presidential candidate Peter Obi has claimed that relentless pressure and alleged intimidation by the current administration have left him uncertain about his future.

Speaking during an interview on With Chude, Obi said he cannot guarantee he will still be alive by the time Nigerians head to the polls for the 2027 presidential election.

Obi alleged that the Federal Government has consistently frustrated his activities and targeted members of the opposition.

Responding to a question about whether he expected to be on the ballot in 2027, he said, “Not even a candidate. I might not even be alive. I’m telling you.”

He alleged that virtually every aspect of his public and private engagements has been deliberately obstructed.

“Every single thing I do for a living, this government is frustrating it. Deliberately so. Everything. So, there is even a possibility, if they have the opportunity, I will not be alive,” he said.

Although he stressed that he was not making a direct accusation, the former Anambra State governor insisted that the pattern of events surrounding him points to deliberate interference.

Obi further claimed that the alleged intimidation is not limited to him, arguing that opposition politicians across the country are facing similar treatment.

To illustrate his claims, he recalled a recent incident at an airport where officials allegedly locked his vehicle while other cars parked in the same area were left untouched. According to him, even after identifying himself, the officials refused to back down.

He also alleged that some people now avoid greeting him publicly or inviting him to family events because they fear becoming targets due to their association with him.

The Federal Government had not responded to Obi’s allegations as of the time this report was filed, while the former governor did not provide evidence during the interview to substantiate his claims.
