In a chilling expose of human trafficking practices in Zambia, a detective chief inspector, Marcel Mulenga, revealed shocking details of a covert investigation where suspected traffickers offered him the option of purchasing a person with albinism, dead or alive, in Petauke, Eastern Province.

Marcel Mulenga, a seasoned investigator, provided harrowing testimony during the trial of seven men accused of attempting to sell a Mozambican woman with albinism for K100 million. The investigation shed light on the disturbing reality of human trafficking, with persons living with albinism being particularly targeted.

Posing as a prospective buyer, Mulenga delved into the underworld of human trafficking, where he was confronted with a chilling ultimatum: procure a dead or a living person with albinism. Despite the gruesome options presented, Mulenga and his team vehemently opposed the idea of killing, insisting on the preservation of human life.

The prevalence of human trafficking, especially of vulnerable groups such as persons with albinism, underscores the urgent need for concerted efforts to combat this heinous crime.

Zambia, like many other countries in the region, continues to grapple with the scourge of human trafficking, posing a significant challenge to law enforcement and humanitarian efforts.

The case in question not only exposes the brutality of human trafficking but also highlights the resilience of law enforcement in combating this transnational crime.

Through meticulous investigative work and firm commitment, Mulenga and his team have brought to light the dark realities faced by vulnerable individuals, shedding light on the urgent need for comprehensive measures to address human trafficking.

The accused individuals in the trial face severe charges for their alleged involvement in the trafficking of persons with albinism, a crime that not only violates national and international laws but also infringes upon the fundamental rights and dignity of individuals.

As the trial progresses, the eyes of the nation are fixed on the outcome, hoping for justice to be served and for the voices of the victims to be heard.

The bravery of Marcel Mulenga and his team serves as a beacon of hope in the fight against human trafficking, inspiring collective action towards a world where exploitation and impunity have no place.
