Namibian presidential candidate Henk Mudge has vowed to expel Chinese nationals from the country within three months if he wins the upcoming election in November.
Mudge, leader of the Republican Party, accuses Chinese nationals of disregarding Namibian law and blames the ruling SWAPO party for allowing the situation to persist.
According to Mudge, Chinese businesses in Namibia are engaged in the sale of counterfeit goods, paying low wages, and mistreating local workers. He criticized SWAPO for enabling these activities, which he claims undermine local businesses and worker rights.
“Chinese nationals have no regard for the law of our country, and they must leave,” Mudge stated, drawing attention to his controversial stance on foreign relations and labor issues.
The candidate’s remarks have sparked debate in Namibia, where China’s influence has grown significantly in recent years, particularly in the infrastructure and trade sectors
