Social and political activist Aisha Yesufu has issued a caution about an impending protest more impactful than the 2020 nationwide ‘End SARS’ movement. The earlier protests targeted police brutality, particularly calling for the disbandment of the Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS) in Nigeria, and originated on Twitter, spreading across major cities with accompanying violence and casualties. Yesufu warns of an upcoming upheaval fueled by simmering anger over the audacity of corrupt politicians and rulers who manipulated their way into power, suggesting it might be unexpected and potentially violent.
