Former Nigerian President Goodluck Jonathan has been nominated by the Commonwealth to lead its Election Observation Mission for Pakistan’s general elections on February 8, 2024.
Jonathan, who served as Nigeria’s President from 2010 to 2015, will lead a 13-member Observer Group to monitor and assess the electoral process, providing recommendations for its improvement.
The Commonwealth Secretary-General, Patricia Scotland, expressed gratitude for Jonathan’s acceptance of the role and highlighted the importance of his leadership and expertise in the mission.
