The President of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC), Comrade Joe Ajaero, is set to be transported abroad for medical treatment due to injuries sustained in a scuffle in Imo state. He was in Owerri to organize a protest rally against the state government’s alleged mistreatment of workers. The peaceful protest turned violent as thugs attacked the protesters and labor leaders. Ajaero’s injuries are severe and cannot be treated at the Federal Medical Centre (FMC), Owerri.
