Nigeria’s Temi Otedola Opens Up On Her Marriage With Mr Eazi
Nigerian actress Temi Otedola has revealed why she married award-winning singer and entrepreneur Oluwatosin Ajibade, popularly known as Mr Eazi.
Speaking in a recent interview with the BBC, the daughter of billionaire businessman Femi Otedola described Mr Eazi as her “best friend” and “life partner,” saying she could not imagine being with anyone else.
“There are too many reasons. First and foremost, he is my best friend. That’s my person. And when you meet your person, you just know,” Temi said. “I can’t imagine spending the rest of my life with anyone else. He’s the one I’m excited to build with, to face challenges with, and to celebrate victories alongside.”
On her decision to adopt her husband’s surname after marriage, she explained: “I’m now a married woman, and for me, the obvious thing was to take my husband’s name. But it’s a personal choice. I also respect the right of every woman to decide for herself.”
She further added that keeping her relationship private has allowed her to control her narrative in an industry where public attention often distorts personal stories.
Temi Otedola is the youngest daughter of Nigerian oil magnate and philanthropist Femi Otedola. Beyond her family’s wealth, Temi has carved out her own identity in entertainment and fashion.
She made her acting debut in Kunle Afolayan’s 2020 Netflix feature film Citation, where her lead role earned her critical acclaim and placed her among Nollywood’s rising stars. She also runs a fashion and lifestyle blog that showcases her global influence.
Mr Eazi, born Oluwatosin Ajibade, is a Nigerian-Ghanaian Afrobeats pioneer and the creator of “Banku Music,” a blend of Nigerian rhythms and Ghanaian highlife.
He has gained international recognition with hit songs, global tours, and collaborations with top artists such as Burna Boy, J Balvin, and Nicki Minaj. Outside music, he is a successful entrepreneur, with investments in music distribution, tech start-ups, and the creative economy across Africa.
The couple reportedly began dating in 2017, and while they occasionally shared glimpses of their love story on social media, they largely kept their relationship private.
Their wedding in Iceland in September 2025 made headlines worldwide. Despite its intimate guest list, it attracted global attention when American singer John Legend performed live at the ceremony.
Their marriage is seen by many as the coming together of two influential worlds: Nollywood glamour and Afrobeats global reach, backed by strong business and family legacies.
In Nigeria, their union has sparked conversations about love, privacy, celebrity marriages, and the ability of young public figures to balance personal lives with fame.
