Nollywood Veteran Patrick ‘Energy’ Okoye Dies
The Nigerian movie industry is mourning the death of veteran Nollywood actor Patrick Okoye, popularly known as “Energy.”
Reports say the actor died in the early hours of Thursday, May 28, 2026. His death was confirmed in a post shared on his official Instagram page, which read, “Rest in peace, legend.”
Tributes have continued to pour in from colleagues, fans and well-wishers, many of whom described his death as a great loss to Nollywood.
Aside from acting, Okoye was also reportedly a lecturer at Nnamdi Azikiwe University, where he impacted many students through his academic work.
He was widely respected for his talent, dedication to the entertainment industry and support for younger actors.
The cause of his death had not been made public as of the time of this report.
