President Joe Biden has voiced significant concerns about the potential aftermath of the 2024 U.S. election if former President Donald Trump loses. In a CBS News interview, Biden suggested that Trump might not accept the election results, hinting at the possibility of unrest. Biden highlighted Trump’s past remarks about only accepting the outcome if the election was “stolen” from him, underscoring the threat to a peaceful transition of power.
In the interview, Biden mistakenly said, “If Trump wins, no, I’m not confident at all,” before correcting himself: “I mean, if Trump loses, I’m not confident at all. He means what he says.”
Trump had previously warned of a “bloodbath” for the U.S. if he lost the 2024 election, a statement that Biden’s campaign denounced as incitement to political violence. Biden’s warnings align with his broader campaign focus on protecting democracy, contrasting his approach to Trump’s refusal to accept past election outcomes.
Biden emphasized, “You can’t only love your country when you win,” while drawing attention to Trump’s efforts to influence local election officials, raising alarms about the integrity of the upcoming election.
