Africa Focuses on Unlocking Energy Potential at Key Summit

The 2025 Africa Energy Summit in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania, is bringing together leaders to address Africa’s energy deficit.

The World Bank outlined that the summit is crucial for advancing “Mission 300,” aiming to provide electricity to 300 million people by 2030.

African Development Bank President Dr. Akinwumi Adesina stressed the importance of investing in energy infrastructure, saying, “Universal electricity access powers industries, creates jobs, and transforms economies.”

He also linked energy access to migration, stating, “If we want to tackle migration, we must ensure Africa achieves 100% electricity access.”

The summit’s agenda includes adopting the Dar es Salaam Declaration and the Africa Energy Compact, which will guide energy reforms and investments for sustainable access across the continent.
