Esther Okoronkwo has promised to raise the bar even higher for the Super Falcons after her standout performance in their 3-0 triumph over Tunisia at the 2024 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations.
The AFC Toronto forward was brought on in the second half by coach Justine Madugu and wasted no time making an impact.
Known for her sharp dribbling and quick footwork, Okoronkwo created constant problems for the Tunisian defenders, showcasing her skill and agility.
In the 73rd minute, she nearly found the back of the net, rattling the woodwork after weaving past two defenders. But it was her assist that sealed the match, setting up Chiwendu Ihezuo for Nigeria’s third goal just before the halftime whistle.
Named Woman of the Match for her efforts, Okoronkwo said, “It doesn’t matter where I start — what matters is the impact I have on the game.”
