Bungoma Woman Cries Out After Mother Allegedly Spends Her KSh 800k Saudi Savings

A woman from Bungoma County, Faith Kisiangani, has accused her mother of squandering the money she worked hard to earn while in Saudi Arabia.

Faith said she went to the Gulf country hoping to start a new life and build her future, especially after going through an abusive relationship back home.

To secure her dream, she made a deal with her mother to save her KSh 826,000 earnings while she worked abroad but things turned sour when she returned home to find nothing left.

Faith explained that her decision to travel to Saudi Arabia was not just for money but also for peace of mind after enduring heartbreak and family problems.

She worked tirelessly for over two years as a house help, caring for a large family and sending most of her earnings back home, trusting that her mother would use the money wisely.

However, on her return, she found her family living in poverty, and her mother reportedly told her that she had “paid herself back for raising her.”

Faith said she was heartbroken and felt betrayed, especially after learning her mother had received pension and loan money worth over KSh 4 million during the same period.

The situation has left Faith struggling emotionally and financially. She said her relationship with her mother has completely broken down, and she now feels abandoned by the very person she trusted most.

Her story reflects the painful experiences of many Kenyan women who work abroad, send money home in good faith, and return to find their savings gone.

Faith’s experience serves as a reminder to migrant workers to safeguard their finances and ensure they have secure channels for saving and investment while working overseas.
