New Flooding in Kenya Pushes Death Toll to 62 Amid Ongoing Heavy Rains

Authorities warn that continued downpours may trigger more flash floods as Kenya enters the early stages of its long rains season.

The Interior Ministry reports that Nairobi has suffered the bulk of the fatalities, with emergency crews still conducting search and rescue efforts across hard‑hit areas.

Officials say the deaths include 46 men, eight women and eight children, and that flooding has disrupted communities and forced displacement in several regions.

The Kenya Meteorological Department has cautioned that widespread heavy rainfall and flood risks are likely to persist.
