End This Mess — Davido, Victony, Timaya Pressure Tinubu Over Oyo School Kidnapping
Popular Nigerian artistes Davido, Victony, and Timaya have added their voices to growing public outrage over the abduction of schoolchildren and teachers in Oyo State, calling for urgent government intervention and stronger action against rising insecurity.
Their reactions follow the mass kidnapping at several schools in Oriire Local Government Area on May 15, 2026, where armed men reportedly abducted 39 pupils and seven teachers.
Two teachers were killed during the attack, deepening national grief and concern.
Victony issued one of the most direct appeals, writing on his X handle:
“Save our children & Put an end to this mess @officialABAT,” urging President Bola Tinubu to take decisive action to secure the release of the victims and address worsening insecurity.
Davido also expressed emotional distress over the incident, describing the situation as heartbreaking and unbearable.
He lamented the continued suffering of victims and families, stressing that the country cannot continue to witness such tragedies without urgent intervention.
Timaya, in a separate reaction, called on the federal government to intensify efforts and strengthen coordination in tackling insecurity.
He emphasized the need for urgent and sustained action to protect vulnerable communities, especially in rural areas where schools have increasingly come under attack.
The incident has further intensified public debate over security in Nigeria, with growing pressure on authorities to prioritise the safety of children and educational institutions.
Calls from entertainers, activists, and citizens continue to mount as families await news of the abducted victims amid fears over their safety.
