Global Stars Shakira and Burna Boy Light Up 2026 World Cup Opening Ceremony

The 2026 FIFA World Cup began with a spectacular musical celebration in Mexico City.

Before host nation Mexico faced South Africa in the tournament’s opening match, global pop icon Shakira and African music giant Burna Boy took the stadium stage by storm.

The superstars united for an electrifying performance of “Dai Dai,” delivering an energetic showcase that blended Latin rhythms and infectious Afrobeats.

Photos from the ceremony captured the colorful choreography and massive stadium energy, setting a vibrant tone for the historic global tournament ahead.

Following the star-studded show, the music faded to make way for the beautiful game as the highly anticipated opening match officially got underway.
