Cameroon Send Super Falcons Out of WAFCON 2026
Nigeria’s Super Falcons have been eliminated from the 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations after losing 1-0 to Cameroon in a tightly contested quarter-final on Sunday.
The decisive moment came in the 19th minute when Myriam Maéva Nyadjou Wamen produced a brilliant free-kick to give Cameroon the lead.
Nigeria responded with determined attacks as they searched for an equaliser, but the Falcons struggled to turn their pressure into a goal.

Despite their efforts to level the score and force the match into extra time, Cameroon’s defence stood firm until the final whistle.
The result ends Nigeria’s hopes of retaining the continental title they won against Morocco at the previous edition of the tournament.
The Super Falcons will now face South Africa in Casablanca on Thursday, with a place in the Inter-Confederation playoff tournament at stake.
