NIGERIA: Two Inspectors Dismissed for Leading Armed Robbery Ring with Vigilante Members

Summary: Police operatives from Zone 2 Police Command, Lagos, have apprehended two Police Inspectors and three vigilante members for alleged involvement in multiple robbery operations across Lagos and Ogun States.

Inspectors Sunday Adetoye and Ogunleye Stephen were dismissed from the force for conspiracy and armed robbery. The gang, armed with rifles, raided a residence in Obada-Oko, Ogun State, seizing phones and laptops. The Assistant Inspector-General of Police ordered their dismissal and prosecution alongside the vigilante members. The Police urged professionalism and vowed zero tolerance for corruption.
