Angela Okorie Sparks Debate After Burning Outfit Worn to Alex Ekubo’s Burial (Video)
Nollywood actress Angela Okorie has sparked online conversation after revealing why she burned the outfit she wore to the burial ceremony of late actor Alex Ekubo, a moment she also shared in a video.
In a post on her Instagram page, the actress explained that the decision was based on advice she received from her godmother concerning traditional post-burial practices.

According to her, she was told that clothes worn to funerals are not meant to be kept, and should instead be disposed of, preferably by burning—based on certain cultural beliefs.
Acting on the advice, Angela said she chose to burn the outfit and later shared the act publicly, saying she wanted others to be aware of the belief.
She added that her intention was not to impose the practice, but to pass on what she had been told so individuals and families could make their own choices.
The actress also offered prayers for long life and protection, expressing gratitude and hope for continued well-being.

The post and accompanying video have since triggered mixed reactions online, with users divided over the relevance of such traditions in modern times.
