Blessing CEO Breaks Silence on Alex Ekubo’s Death, Curses Cancer in Emotional Reaction

Controversial Nigerian relationship commentator Blessing CEO has reacted emotionally to the death of Nollywood actor Alex Ekubo, whose passing has continued to stir conversations across Nigeria’s entertainment industry.

The actor reportedly died in a Lagos hospital after an alleged battle with stage 4 liver cancer, a revelation that shocked many fans and colleagues who were unaware of his health condition.

Responding to the heartbreaking development, Blessing CEO took to her Instagram page with a brief but emotional message directed at the disease believed to have claimed the actor’s life.

Sharing a photo of the late movie star, she wrote: “God will punish cancer. We waited for you to show up. You fought silently. Rest in peace.”

Her reaction quickly reignited discussions online, especially because the influencer herself was recently at the centre of controversy over claims that she was battling stage 4 breast cancer.

In March 2026, Blessing CEO publicly appealed for financial support for chemotherapy treatment, presenting what she described as medical documents to back her condition.

However, the situation later sparked backlash after the Nigerian Medical Association accused her of allegedly manipulating another patient’s medical report from Xinus Medical Diagnostics.

The controversy deepened after social media activist VeryDarkMan reportedly petitioned the police over the matter, prompting calls for an official investigation approved by the Inspector-General of Police.

Despite the earlier backlash surrounding her health claims, Blessing CEO’s latest reaction to Alex Ekubo’s death has generated sympathy from some Nigerians, while others continue to debate the circumstances surrounding both controversies.
