Fans Flood Social Media With Prayers As Dolly Parton Battles Health Challenge
Concern swept through the music world after Freida Parton, sister to country icon Dolly Parton, revealed she had been “up all night praying” for her 79-year-old sibling, who has recently faced health problems.
“Many of you know she hasn’t been feeling her best lately. I truly believe in the power of prayer and ask everyone who loves her to lift her up.”
The message sparked an outpouring of worry from fans, prompting Freida to later clarify that Dolly’s condition was not life-threatening.
“I didn’t mean to scare anyone,” she wrote in a follow-up. “She’s just been under the weather. I know she’ll be fine.”
Parton, one of America’s most enduring music figures, postponed her much-anticipated Las Vegas residency — Dolly: Live in Las Vegas — which was scheduled to begin in December 2025 at Caesars Palace. The concerts have now been rescheduled for September 2026, as the singer recovers from a recent medical procedure.
Her manager, Olly Rowland, disclosed that the superstar had been treated for kidney stones, explaining that the online speculation “got blown out of proportion.”
In her own light-hearted statement, Parton assured fans she was following medical advice to take things slow:
“I told my doctors it must be time for my 100,000-mile checkup,” she joked. “But don’t you worry — I’m not quitting the business. God hasn’t told me to stop yet.”
For decades, Dolly Parton has been more than a singer — she’s been an American institution. From humble beginnings in rural Tennessee to international fame with classics like Jolene and I Will Always Love You, her career has spanned over sixty years.
This health setback comes months after the death of her husband, Carl Dean, in March 2025, marking one of the most difficult years of her life. Yet, even now, her resilience shines through.
Fans across the world continue to rally behind her, flooding social media with love, prayers, and messages of support — confident that the Queen of Country will return to the stage stronger than ever.
