Hormuz on Lockdown as Iran Refuses to Back Down
Iran has declared that the Strait of Hormuz will remain shut, deepening tensions in a region critical to global energy supply.
Tehran blames ongoing ceasefire violations by the United States and Israel, saying continued military pressure makes any reopening impossible for now.
The crisis intensified after Iranian forces seized two vessels attempting to pass through the waterway. Authorities claimed the ships were moving covertly, while security reports suggested at least one was attacked and damaged.
The incident marks a significant escalation, signaling a tougher stance from Iran since the conflict began.
With both Iran and the US enforcing separate blockades, the strait has effectively turned into a no-go zone.
This has disrupted a major share of global oil and gas shipments, sparking concerns about rising fuel prices and supply shortages worldwide.
While Washington insists its strategy is weakening Iran economically, Tehran remains defiant, rejecting any pressure to step down.
Diplomatic efforts have stalled, with planned talks failing to take place despite mediation attempts.
As the standoff drags on, its global impact continues to grow—affecting markets, stranding ships, and increasing fears of a prolonged economic and geopolitical crisis.
