The Kano State Government has confirmed the acquisition of 41 luxury SUVs worth N68 million each for its State House of Assembly members, totaling approximately N2.6 billion.
Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf, through his Chief of Staff Alhaji Shehu Wada Sagagi, defended the purchase as a right of the lawmakers. To ease financial strain, the payment will be spread over time.
Despite economic challenges, a lawmaker anonymously justified the purchase, citing the need for effective legislative functions.
