The standard bearer of opposition Collaborating Political Parties (CPP), Alexander Benedict Cummings has termed the first tenure of President George Weah’s presidency as a “failure and a mistake that should be corrected in October 2023 during the general presidential elections.”

The CPP standard bearer was speaking in reaction to President Weah’s last State of the Nation address for his first term where he bragged about his administration making gains, and alluding that there were some challenges like corruption and the harsh economic situation the country is faced with.

Cummings, who is fondly called ABC by partisans of the CPP vowed to work assiduously and ensure that President Weah who ‘failed’ the masses miserably becomes a one term President while he pledged during the press briefing that he will “lead in a different manner by being honest, diligent and with integrity.

The presidential hopeful vowed to take responsibility for his failure and successes as head of state when he assumes the Liberian presidency, while he added that asset declaration and serious accountability for one’s action(s) will be the hallmark of his administration.

He named auditing the Weah’s administration and prosecution of corrupt officials as some of his priorities, as his means of curtailing corruption in Liberia which will lead to improvement of the livelihood of the citizenry due to equitable distribution of the state’s resources.

Meanwhile, the CPP standard bearer disclosed that when he is elected President of Liberia come October, we will ensure that a thorough investigation is conducted into the serial mysterious deaths that permeate the country and the culprits will face the consequences for intentional homicides.

He decried the Weah’s administration inability to bring to book people who are responsible for these homicides occurring frequently making reference to the death of the two ex-President sons, three employees of the Liberia Revenue Authority who were occupying strategic positions and the director general of the Internal Audit Agency amongst others.
