Minister of Foreign Affairs Bids Farewell to Outgoing Russian Ambassador to Somalia

Mogadishu Somalia | 19 May 2026

The Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of the Federal Republic of Somalia, H.E. Abdisalam Abdi Ali, today received H.E. Amb. Mikhail Golovanov, the outgoing non-resident Ambassador of the Russian Federation to Somalia, upon the completion of his diplomatic tenure.

The Minister commended Ambassador Golovanov for his efforts in advancing bilateral relations and welcomed the longstanding ties between Somalia and Russia.

The two sides reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening cooperation and enhancing relations in areas of mutual interest.
