The Kogi State Government has reported three “assassination” attempts on Governor Alhaji Yahaya Bello, with attackers in military uniforms firing at his convoy on the Lokoja-Abuja highway, near Kwali Area Council in the Federal Capital Territory. The government believes these attempts are part of a plot to portray the state as unsafe before the upcoming November 11 governorship election. Swift intervention by security personnel attached to the governor thwarted the attacks.
