NIGERIA: Labour Party Candidate Peter Obi Rewards Kano Tricyclist with Varsity Scholarship for Returning N15m

Peter Obi, the Presidential Candidate of the Labour Party in the 2023 elections, along with his running mate Baba-Ahmed Datti, announced a scholarship for Auwalu Salisu, a tricycle rider from Kano.

Salisu returned N15 million to its owner, a passenger from Chad, which was forgotten in his tricycle. The scholarship, announced at a leadership awards conference, will cover Salisu’s education expenses at Baze University until graduation.

Obi emphasized the need to invest in Northern Nigeria, citing its potential in agriculture and the importance of job creation to alleviate poverty and reduce crime nationwide.
