Five people including a teenager have been killed in a Lagos state gas explosion, local media report.
Eyewitnesses quoted by the BBC say the explosion occurred at about 09:00 local time in a crowded market, killing five at once while feared dead.
According to the fire service officials, the explosion affected several buildings, but could not give the exact extent of damage by broadcast time.
Meanwhile, state emergency management agency is yet to issue a comprehensive report on the accident which has so far been attributed to the operators’ negligence as well as sloppy regulation.
