In a unanimous verdict, the court dismissed Abubakar’s appeal, stating that it lacked merit. Abubakar, a candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, had challenged the eligibility of Tinubu’s election as president and the failure of INEC to transmit election results electronically. Abubakar also sought to introduce new evidence regarding Tinubu’s academic records. However, the court ruled that there was no merit in the appeal.
