Nollywood Stars Join Family as Alex Ekubo Is Laid to Rest in Abia
Family members, friends and colleagues gathered in Arochukwu, Abia State, as Nollywood actor Alex Ekubo was laid to rest amid an outpouring of grief and tributes.

The late actor’s remains arrived in his hometown in a solemn convoy that made a brief stop at the palace of the traditional ruler of Arochukwu before proceeding to the family compound, where relatives and well-wishers awaited.
Residents turned out in large numbers to pay their final respects, with many joining a procession through the community.
Mourners wore customised shirts bearing the actor’s image, while others carried photographs as they honoured his memory.

Several Nollywood personalities travelled to Abia for the burial, reflecting the impact Ekubo made during his years in the film industry.
Among those present were IK Ogbonna, Ini Edo, Omoni Oboli and Yomi Casual, who joined family members in bidding him farewell.

The actor died last month at the age of 40 after a battle with kidney cancer.
News of his death drew tributes from colleagues, fans and industry stakeholders, many of whom remembered him for his talent, charisma and contributions to Nollywood.
He is survived by his wife, parents and siblings.
